Perpleplexity does not make up to have its conversational chatbot based on the GPT-3.5 model of OpenAi, GPT-4, Claude 3, Mistral Large and others LLM to compete with Google Chatgpt or Gemini, but also wants to enter the "browse war" and for that it has launched its own software: Comet.
It is a web browser driven by artificial intelligence that is already available, in the test phase, in Windows. Direct competition for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox, has currently been released for Windows environments, while in Mac it was launched in the test environment last May.
Anyway, not all users can still use it, but only some chosen can try it. To have the possibility, it is necessary to access the following URL https://www.perplexity.ai/comet and sign up on the waiting list including an email address. The "lucky" who can try it before launch will be notified by email.
The company has already sent the first invitations to the first tests with indications to download the web browser driven by AI.
In addition to computers, Comet will have versions for Android mobiles and also in iOS, in which Perplexity works today.
