Where will the best view of the eclipse be in Spain? Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, La Coruña and Asturias are the main provinces. It can be seen on August 12 in different parts of Spain. There are 7 percent of Spaniards who do not rule out witnessing the eclipse and will be in Madrid. 5.6 percent will see it in Valencia. 5.3 percent will be in Barcelona. 4.8 percent will be in La Coruña; 4.4 percent, in Asturias. Other points chosen by Spaniards to see the total solar eclipse are Alicante (3.7%), Balearic Islands (3.8%), Cádiz (3%), León (3.3%) or Pontevedra (3.2%).

This is reflected in the Barometer of the Sociological Research Center (CIS) for the month of June. They conducted 4,024 interviews with the Spanish population of both sexes over 18 years of age. 27.5 percent of Spaniards do not know that a total solar eclipse will occur on August 12. This will be visible in some areas of Spain. But 72.3 percent do know about this event.
Regarding where they will be the week of the total solar eclipse (August 9 to 15), 60 percent of those who do not rule out witnessing this event respond that they will be in their usual place of residence. 16.8 percent, in their usual vacation spot. 13.9 percent do not know where they will be that week. 7.8 percent in another place in Spain other than their home or usual vacation spot. 0.9 percent believe they will be abroad.
Looking for places
95.1 percent of those who do not rule out witnessing the total solar eclipse say they have not changed their vacation plans during that week to see it. Among those who have decided to watch the eclipse from a location other than where they live, 33.5 percent indicate that they will travel to the site of the eclipse. They will spend several days in that place. 28.6 percent will make a round trip on the same day of the eclipse in the afternoon. 18 percent will make a trip on the same day of the eclipse, spending the night. 14 percent will make a round trip on the same day as the morning eclipse.
Looking for the best view of the eclipse in Spain, 81.7 percent of them plan to travel to the place where they will see the eclipse by private vehicle. 7.1 percent by public bus, 2 percent by private or company bus, 2.4 percent by motorhome and 1.3 percent by train.
