Formerly known as Yammer, Microsoft Live Engage is a social network for companies and organizations that was launched in August 2022. It is available through its web platform on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS, and also has an application for Android and iOS.
Viva Engage only supports login for users who have a Microsoft 365 business or education account. It is designed to facilitate communication and collaboration for company employees and the exchange of information for large organizations.
Thanks to this platform, workers and collaborators can ask questions and receive answers in real time to make work more efficient, as well as exchange documents, apply live corrections, hold group meetings, and more.
How Microsoft Viva Engage works
Viva Engage allows you to create a more active, functional and faster business environment, with your own tools. It can be accessed for free with the base Microsoft 365 subscription. However, if you want access to additional features, the following subscription options are available to you:
– Microsoft Viva Employee Communications and Communities: Its price is 1.90 euros per month and it offers live leadership events so that managers can communicate with employees easily, quickly and closely. It also includes the creation of corporate campaigns, advanced analytical tools and two functions that serve to publish news and customize the corporate intranet (Viva Amplify and Viva Connections).
–Microsoft Viva Suite: It has a monthly cost of 11.20 euros, includes everything in the Viva Employee plan and adds: Viva Insights (productivity and well-being analysis), Viva Learning (training and integration through software), Viva Goals (objective monitoring) and Viva Glint and Viva Pulse (two functions that allow you to create surveys on the quality of the work environment).
By entering the platform, in the "Communities" section, the employee can exchange information with individuals, groups, companies and clubs. You also have a document library at your disposal that will make it easy for you to share data with any other colleagues. Viva Engage also integrates “Storylines” and “Stories” functionality to create and publish videos and photos instantly for live work updates.
In the “Leadership Corner” section, the department head and employees interact directly, while in the “Answers in Viva” section, employees can search for information in past conversations, as well as ask questions to clear up doubts and access key content from across the company.
To keep the work group together, the platform has a function called "Campaigns", which allows employees to have a voice, exchange ideas, participate in debates and set goals to achieve the common good.
Viva Engage also integrates a section with analysis tools that are used to study and evaluate the scope, reactions and conversations in order to know the quality of interactions between workers. This is useful to maintain a healthy work environment with emerging themes that encourage progress.
Copilot is incorporated into Viva Engage to help company communicators create publications and articles that are more useful and attractive to the work team. Based on this, AI offers contextual suggestions, ensures content clarity, reports on campaign performance and makes personalized recommendations on topics to publish.
